STIIIZY x J DILLA TRIBUTE EVENT

STIIIZY sponsored the J Dilla tribute event on February 28, 2020 in Los Angeles Calif. that was hosted by All I.D. aka “ALL I.D. EVERYBODY DILLA”: An organization that pays homage to the trailblazing career of the iconic and genre-defying producer and artist, J Dilla.

STIIIZY sponsored the J Dilla Tribute as well as hosted a booth and a LIIIT recreational lounge area for attendees to sample products such as our Gold Live Resin line, LIIIT pre-rolls and more. The event held performances by Slum Village, The Pharcyde, Blu & Exile and featured special guests such as R&B artist Miguel and J Dilla’s mom: Ma Dukes.

Known as James Yancey (aka Jay Dee, aka J Dilla), Yancey was born in 1973 in the Conant Gardens neighborhood of Detroit and began creating beats at home when he was just 11 years old (Rob Fitzpatrick). He rose to recognition in the underground hip hop scene around the mid-1990s and is one third of the acclaimed music group Slum Village. Dilla died from a lupus-related illness in 2006, but lives on through the music he made.
