STIIIZY HOSTS TOYS FOR TOTS, FOOD DRIVE AT DTLA AND DAVIS LOCATIONS
Toys donated were collected at our DTLA retail location while canned foods at our Davis location.
The pandemic holiday season has been less than joyful for families who have been directly affected by the COVID-19 virus. Having only received one stimulus package and surviving on little to no unemployment benefits, a number of families struggled to provide a memorable holiday experience this year. This is why STIIIZY took steps to help take care of those in need by encouraging customers to donate unopened toys and canned goods at two retail locations: DTLA and Davis. We are proud to say that we were able to have received 50 toys in conjunction with Toys for Tots and 200-pounds of canned goods for Woodland Food Closet — allowing us to bring a bit more holiday cheer to families in need.
Receiving so many toys and canned goods that we did were beyond our team’s expectations. STIIIZY was happy to have teamed up with known organizations Marine Toys for Tots and Woodland Food Closet to help struggling families during the holidays that have lost their job or loved ones due to the pandemic.
Toys for Tots has been delivering hope to the less fortunate since 1947, having distributed over 584 million toys to date. Woodland Food Closet is a volunteer community organization that was established to provide temporary, immediate nutritional and hygienic support for those in need.
The need for food has increasingly become more significant now more than ever since the pandemic started, with families struggling to not only provide a good holiday experience, but struggling financially due to the loss of their jobs or less working hours.
Another event STIIIZY participated in this past holiday season was with the Watts Empowerment Center for its “Party in the Projects” event where we were able to provide 300 chickens, food essentials, toys and a $5,000 monetary donation.
The year 2020 has been one of the toughest years yet, but nonetheless, STIIIZY will continue to do what it can as a team to help the community (alongside the recent launch of BLESSED by LIIIT).
